Privacy Policy — VerletOS

Last updated: 21 July 2026

VerletOS is a molecular and crystal-structure visualization app. We designed it to minimize data handling.

1. No account, no personal data

VerletOS does not require an account and does not collect personal information or device identifiers. There is no analytics or advertising SDK, and the app does not track you across other apps or websites.

2. Files stay on your device

Structure files you import (CIF, PDB, XYZ, SMILES, and similar formats) are parsed and rendered locally on your device. They are not uploaded to us or to any third party.

3. Optional online lookups

When you use the optional search, structure-loading, or Assistant features, the text you enter (chemical formulas, element symbols, database IDs, or the question you type) is sent over HTTPS to the corresponding third-party service solely to retrieve the data or answer you requested:

These services receive the request (including your IP address, as with any web request) and are governed by their own privacy policies. We do not link these queries to any identity.

4. Speaking to the Assistant

If you use the Assistant by voice, VerletOS records audio only while that screen is open, and stops the moment you leave it. The audio is transcribed by Apple's speech recognition, on this device wherever your language and hardware support it; where they do not, iOS sends the audio to Apple to transcribe, under Apple's privacy policy. We never store the recording, and it is never sent to us.

The resulting text is treated like anything else you type: it is sent to Solrizon to answer, as described above.

5. Children

VerletOS is a general-audience educational and research tool and does not knowingly collect data from children.

6. Changes

If a future version adds accounts, cloud storage, analytics, or other privacy-impacting features, we will present an updated notice in the app before those features are used.
